Chiropractic Care
Best Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic Care is used to treat over 4.5 million Canadians each year and is a regulated health profession, recognized by statute in all Canadian provinces. Almost 2.7 million patients in Ontario rely on chiropractic care every year to help them live healthy, active lives.
Chiropractic is an evidence-based, non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline that focuses on the MSK system. The MSK system is a complex network of muscles, bones, joints, tendons, and ligaments that offers us the ability to perform our daily activities.
After participating in an undergraduate university program for at least three years, a Doctor of Chiropractic spends another four years at an accredited chiropractic college, receiving more than 4,200 hours of specialized clinical training.
At the Sharbot Lake Chiropractic & Wellness Centre, our Chiropractor performs adjustments using the Pro Adjuster 360 and the ProSoft instruments.
Modalities
Mobilization is a gentle, hands-on technique that uses controlled joint movements to reduce stiffness and improve range of motion. This is an excellent option for those who prefer a gentler treatment.
Electrotherapy uses comfortable electrical currents to help reduce pain, ease muscle tension, and calm irritated nerves. Many patients find it soothing and experience noticeable relief during or after the session.
Therapeutic Ultrasound uses sound waves to promote tissue healing, reduce inflammation, and relax tight or injured muscles and soft tissues. It is commonly used for tendon and ligament injuries, bursitis, and chronic joint irritation.
Pro Adjuster360 – Gentle, Precise, Preferred
The Pro Adjuster360 is a chiropractic instrument designed to deliver precise, computer-controlled adjustments to the spine or other joints. It is used to analyze and treat areas of spinal dysfunction, such as misalignments, with the goal of improving alignment, reducing pain, and enhancing function.
The Pro Adjuster360 uses advanced technology to detect areas of stiffness or misalignment by applying gentle pressure to the vertebrae and recording the spine’s response. This data helps pinpoint areas that need adjustment.
The Pro Adjuster360 applies gentle, controlled impulses to realign the spine. This can be particularly beneficial for patients who prefer a more comfortable or less invasive approach.
This instrument also allows for highly targeted adjustments, minimizing the risk of overcorrection and improving the overall precision of your Chiropractic care.
When your Chiropractor places the instrument over the spine, a barely perceptible impulse is introduced into the vertebrae by a computer sensor. You feel only a “light click” when this is done. The response is instantaneously reflected back to a piezoelectric crystal and sent to the computer for interpretation. This gives your Chiropractor valuable information about the characteristics of the vertebrae and tissues in ways that could never be done before. Your Chiropractor uses this information to help determine the most appropriate treatment for your condition.
Treatment is delivered to the body through the same sensor head that is used for assessment. During the treatment phase, your Chiropractor applies the instrument over the spine or other areas of your body. You feel a light tapping sensation that continues for several seconds until the desired response has been achieved. The computer automatically ends the treatment the moment your tissues have responded.
ProSoftSRT Soft Tissue Treatment
The ProSoft is a cutting-edge soft tissue therapy device featuring 45 High-Speed Protocols designed for muscles and ligaments.
It enhances movement and flexibility while alleviating muscle pain. It includes targeted protocols for carpal tunnel, headaches, fatigue, and neck pain, as well as 16 Freedom Lifestyle protocols to boost coordination, athletic performance, and balance.
The treatment involves the application of controlled mechanical pulses to the affected area. Many patients report feeling a gentle, soothing sensation rather than discomfort. The device is applied directly to the specific area of concern, such as tight muscles or areas with scar tissue. The therapist may move the device around to target different spots within the treatment area.
The intensity and frequency of the vibrations or pulses can be adjusted based on your comfort level and the specific needs of your condition. The therapist will tailor the treatment to ensure it is effective yet comfortable.
What to Expect:
During your initial visit, Dr. Kaillon will begin by reviewing your intake forms and conduct a thorough health history. The next step involves a comprehensive assessment, including evaluating your posture, range of motion, vital signs, and conducting orthopedic tests to check nerve function, reflexes, muscle strength, and joint integrity.
Following this examination, Dr. Kaillon will develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs. This plan will outline the specific treatments to be used, the number and frequency of visits, set goals, and expected outcomes. Potential treatments may include instrument-based adjustments using the ProAdjuster360, joint mobilizations, soft tissue therapy (either manual or using the ProSoft), therapeutic taping, stretching /exercise and lifestyle recommendations.
